This is a key fundraising event for the Community Centre and Wick have a long tradition of running the BBQ. You may not know but the Centre assess on an annual basis the contribution that groups make to the Centre in terms of volunteering, fundraising etc. The fees we get charged for room and theatre hire are then discounted – the more we put into volunteering – the larger the discount. So helping at the beer festival is one of the key ways in which we can demonstrate our support – SO PLEASE SIGN UP! There are three sessions that we need to staff up – and need people willing to cook, chop up bread, chat to the customers etc. We have an additional task this year – thanks to the fundraising efforts of Christopher Brownsey-Joyce we have been donated two new fantastic B & W Zeppelin Air systems from the manufacturers (hi fi in old speak) – these retail at over £500. We are going to raffle one of these at the beer festival so need someone to catch the punters as they come in and during the sessions to buy raffle tickets – all of which will go to the Centre’s funds.
